As you propably already understood in the last post, we were especially in Bali for diving. After successfully passing our first diving level in Malaysia last year we were really impatient to take again bottles and fins to go back under water.
We were absolutely not disappointed with the trip.

We first arrived to Amed to pass our second diving level, called Advanced Open Water.
We had a lot of choice about the diving schools and chose EuroDive. We were not disappointed, we were able to select all the diving sites we wanted to discover, the team was great, with instructors from different countries including french ones. Atmoshpere is really relaxed and it really makes you want to learn with them. Basically we were convinced on land even before going under water.

We had insisted to go on the Liberty wreck really early in the morning and our wish has been granted. When we arrived the sun was rising on the sea there were only few people getting ready to dive. Under water everything was wonderful, we observed really closesly the big humphead parrotfish, in group almost motionless. Then we explored the wreck, the more the sun light was getting intense the more we were discovering corals’ colors and the fish around. A moment of pure pleasure.

Kubu was the second wreck we dived, a japanese wreck where we played with our instructor to take a poses, behind the rudder and in the hold, in an old jeep which looks more like a metal box now. Antoine, our instructor showed us baby corals growing on the wreck, a sign that here everything is alright.

We left Amed with a lot of beautiful images and memories, next step Nusa Lembongan to make our first advanced fun dives. The program is try to see the Mola Molas, also known as sunfish and Mantas. Everything seams easy because we’re there at the right season.

Waking up really early to arrive on the first spot before most tourists to Crystal bay, the place is beautiful but a little bit full of diving boats already. The place is famous at this time of the year because of Mola Molas’. We equiped ourselves, impatient to go underwater. There coral reef is amazing with a lot of colors, fish, smalls and bigs but no Mola Molas.
Our guide showed us a group of divers who were observing one, but by the time we arrived, the fish was already gone. Sadly we don’t have a lot of time before coming back on the boat and I prefer enjoying the reef rather than desperately searching for these big ones. Finally coming out of the big blue, 2 Mola Molas swimming in our direction at 5 m from the surface.
We didn’t think we will have the chance to see one and we were really glad to see 2, swimming peacefully, until a too curious diver frightened them.

For our second dive of the day we leave to Manta Point, as it’s name indicates it’s the place of rendez-vous for Mantas rays. After our first dive we are even more excited. Barely in the water, still at the surface our guide start to show us some. So we dove directly. It’s a beginning of the ballet of the mantas, we are impressed by their majesty, their slowness and their size. I don’t remember how many we exactly saw but the mission was accomplished.

Back to the mainland we are happy and even more conquered by our dives. Bali will have literally charmed us by these underwater charms. We will surely go back in the area for a ride under the water.
